Bradford City were in a fix before today’s game against Blackpool at Valley Parade. They are in even more than a fix now.
They entered the game bottom of the League One pile and six points, plus a heap of goals, shy of safety. Today’s 4-1 loss at home hasn’t done them any favours in wanting to drag themselves to safety.
Time is running out for the Bantams, there’s just seven games left after today. Even with 21 points left to play for, the outlook seems gloomy for the West Yorkshire side.
Their only saving grace is that sides like Southend (20th – 42 points) and Shrewsbury (19th – 43 points) are in an equally bad run of form as they are.
The 4-1 loss continues City’s bad run that has seen them lose four of their last five games – conceding 12 goals in total. Under new boss Mark Bowyer, there was hope from some that the Bantams might be able to pull clear.
That hope seems to be both lost and forlorn at the moment for City. The performances are simply not there as they lurch from loss to loss and stumble like a punch-drunk boxer.
It’s bound to be disheartening for Bradford City fans, that’s a given. There was much heart over the summer that the club might be able to put up a fight and string together some credible performances.
However, today’s loss is bound to leave these fans somewhat dejected and contemplating whether their side can really avoid the drop. Here’s how some Bantams fans have responded to the crushing loss.

Disgrace #bcafc

Cant even be bothered ranting about them, never has a squad of players sapped me of all enthusiasm for @officialbantams like these.
Play the kids for the rest of the season and at least give us a group of footballers that can be arsed on a match day. #bcafc

Be under no illusion. #edinrahic created this mess. #bcafc need us to support them next season in @EFL #league2 to get back on our feet and get back where we belong in @eflchamp. Its a long road but we'll do it. @Pulse2MDL @ParkerTandA @officialbantams

Listened to Gary Bowyer on Radio 5 this morning and his positivity was infectious, he spoke on national radio like he truly believed we could still survive.
Then this bunch of losers reward him the only way they know how, with a whimper #bcafc

I’ll be renewing my season ticket as always but that’s me done for this season, most pathetic #bcafc team I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching

@officialbantams bottle jobs. Disgusting performance. Not fit to wear the shirt #BCAFC Pathetic

more chance of #brexit going through on march 29th than #bcafc staying up

The sad thing is I think I've stopped caring now#bcafc

The vitriol is there and plain to see. The above comments are plain enough that no inference is needed. Braford City fans aren’t happy, who can blame them. Whilst it is mathematically more than possible that City could stay up, a performance like this must shake even the most stalwart Bantam to the core and almost convince them that their side is all but buried.
