Bradford City complete permanent signing of Peterborough United midfielder

Bradford City have completed the signing of midfielder Jermaine Anderson from fellow League One side Peterborough United on a short-term deal.

Peterborough United midfielder Jermaine Anderson has signed for The deal was announced on Thursday afternoon via the clubs’ websites. The 22-year-old joins up with The Bantams on a short-term deal which will run through until the end of the season.

Anderson turned down a move to National League big spenders Salford City earlier this week and has sealed what would seem to be a preferred move where he will remain in League One.

Anderson started his football career in the academy with Arsenal, before joining Peterborough United back in 2012. After a seven-year spell at London Road, Anderson leaves with 97 appearances under his belt, picking up eight goals and eight assists along the way.

The midfielder posted on Twitter to thank the club’s fans and staff after his long spell with The Posh.

At just 22, the midfielder still has time to fulfil the potential he showed in the early spells of his Posh career. However, his development has been halted by injury problems, suffering a broken foot and a serious knee injury during his time at Posh.

He was sent on loan to Doncaster Rovers for the first half of the League One season, after the arrival of Steve Evans and several new players pushed him out of the first-team picture.

Now, upon joining Bradford, he has spoken to the Bantams’ club website, saying:

“I am buzzing to be joining Bradford and am raring to go, ready to play. I want to do as well as I can over the next few months and fight for my place in the team.

“I haven’t played for a couple of weeks, so am looking forward to getting involved in training and playing at Valley Parade. The home support is fantastic at this club and it will be a great experience to play in front of them.

“Bradford is a massive club and we have the players here to do well. It is all about winning games and climbing the table.”
